No corporation in existence at the time of the adoption of this constitution shall leave the
benefit of any future legislation, nor shall ally amendment or extension to its charter be granted,
until such corporation shall have filed in the office of the commission an acceptance of the
provisions of this constitution: Provided, however, That whether or not they file such acceptance,
such corporations shall be subject to the provisions of this constitution and the laws of this State.
