Slavery and Involuntary Servitude Forbidden - Limitation
(1) Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude shall exist within this State.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to the otherwise lawful administration of the criminal justice system.

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime, whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within this State.
