May issue writs of certiorari to inferior courts

The judges of the courts of Common Pleas, within their respective counties, shall have power to issue writs of certiorari justices of the peace and other inferior courts not of record, and to cause their proceedings to be brought before them, and right and justice to be done.

Of writs of certiorari

The Judges of the Courts of Common Pleas shall, within their respective counties, have the like powers with the Judges of the Supreme Court, to issue writs of Certiorari to the Justices of the Peace, and to cause their proceedings to be brought before them, and the like right and justice to be done.

The Supreme Court and the Several Courts of Common Pleas of this Common Wealth shall besides the powers usually exercised by such Courts, have the powers of a Court of Chancery, so far as relates to the perpetuating Testimony, Obtaining Evidence from places not within this State, and the Care of the Persons and Estates of those who are Non Compotes Mentis, and such other powers as may be found necessary by future General Assemblies, not inconsistent with this Constitution.
