Elections to be by ballot and ballots numbered; endorsements thereon authorized
All elections by the citizens shall be by ballot. Every ballot voted shall be numbered in the order in which it shall be received, and the number recorded by the election officers on the list of voters, opposite the name of the elector who presents the ballot. Any elector may write his name upon his ticket or cause the same to be written thereon and attested by a citizen of the district. The election officers shall be sworn or affirmed not to disclose how any elector shall have voted unless required to do so as witensses in a judicial proceeding.

All elections shall be by ballot, except those by persons in their representative capacities, who shall vote viva voce.

All Elections whether by the People or in General Assembly shall be by Ballot, free and Voluntary; And any Elector, who shall receive any Gift or Reward for his Vote in Meat, Drink, Monies, or otherwise, shall forfeit his right to Elect for that time, and suffer such other Penalty as future Laws shall direct. And any person who shall directly or indirectly give promise or bestow any such Rewards to be Elected, shall be thereby rendered incapable to serve for the ensuing Year.
