Terms and Pay

(1) All justices and judges shall be paid as provided by law, but salaries shall not be diminished during terms of office.
(2) Terms of office shall be eight years for supreme court justices, six years for district court judges, four years for justices of the peace, and as provided by law for other judges.

The justices of the supreme court and the judges of the district courts shall each be paid quarterly by the state, a salary, which shall not be diminished during the terms for which they shall have been respectively elected.

The Justices of the Supreme Court and the Judges of the District Courts shall each be paid quarterly by the State a salary, which shall not be increased or diminished during the terms for which they shall have been respectively elected. Until otherwise provided by law, the salary of the Justices of the Supreme Court shall be four thousand dollars per annum each, and the salary of the Judges of the District Courts shall be three thousand five hundred dollars per annum each.
